| In 2002, Andrea & I were invited to go house-boating on Lake Powell over Memorial Day weekend with three other couples. Alan & Michelle brought their two jet-skis, Brad & Roberta brought their powerboat for water-skiing, and Jim & Patty organized renting a 59-foot "Admiral" class houseboat- so we had a full complement of water craft. |

On the first day, shortly after getting underway, Alan pulled up beside the houseboat on his jetski, as we were motoring up the lake. He matched speed with the houseboat and I was supposed to jump on the back of the jetski with him, so he could ferry me over to the powerboat without having to stop the houseboat. It was a good plan. What happened was this: due to some poor coordination on my part, I wound up falling between the jetski and the houseboat, and soon discovered that my prescription glasses were sinking into the depths, never to be seen again. Fortunately, I had brought a spare pair of glasses on the trip. |

The first night we found a temporary spot to anchor, and the next day we set off in search of good place to park the houseboat for the remainder of the trip. The powerboat and jetski went ahead to scout locations near Dangling Rope marina so we'd have extra supplies nearby, if necessary. We found a little cove in Mountain Sheep Canyon that was perfect- a tight fit for the houseboat, but Jim did a great job maneuvering the houseboat into position. |

Over the next few days, we went water-skiing, and jet-skiing, explored the canyons on the jet-ski, made a few fishing excursions, played games, read and relaxed on the houseboat. The weather was gorgeous the whole time. |
