Base camp (near mile 44 on the south side)
| During this trip the water surface elevation for the lake was 3587, which is 113 feet below the full elevation level of 3700 (due to five years of drought in the Colorado River Basin). As a result, there is roughly 100 foot band of rock which is lighter in color from being submerged in the past (see picture below). |
