Triathlon

Before the race- Ben and the Murphy clan

In 1999 I participated in a sprint-distance triathlon.  Swimming was the easiest part for me- although I started off a little too quickly (and should have done a better job pacing myself).  I also enjoyed the cycling portion of the race.  Running, on the other hand, was definitely my least favorite.  The high-impact of pounding the pavement, in addition to being very exhausting, was also the most painful.  At the end of the race, although I felt good, and was still in good shape cardiovascularly, my legs were just about ready to give out from the punishment.
